Yes, we work with Down Syndrome and most of the learning disabilities as well as any special needs. We do not use Suzuki to teach special needs children we use a program called Where Music Begins which is a program designed specifically for special needs children.
I hope we can help you and if you have friends that have kids with special needs I hope that you will recomend to us.
Thank you for your request. PianoSD has closed its retail location and no longer offers these classes. We are presently working on moving all of the platform over to a referral site specifically for pianos and music lessons.
In regards to your question, you would have to talk to Cathy Hirata of Where Music Begins. She is a delight to know and has a real passion for helping kids (and adults) “learn how to learn” and has seen some marvelous results. She may be a good contact for you if you have those needs.
I apologize for not getting back to you sooner but, have just finished a very tedious move and assisted in opening a new store in Nipomo, Ca. (just south of San Luis Obispo). Again, my apologies for not responding in a more timely manner, but I do appreciate your question.
do you work with children with down syndrome. does the suzuki approach mean anything to your organization?
do you use that style of teaching?
what do you think of it?
