We are very excited

Monday, February 1st, 2010

This week was the beginning of a new year for us.  We signed on with Pearl River Pianos.  I am quite excited about this product.  It has a very warm tone and quite enjoyable to play.  We bought in a few pianos this week and should be getting more in soon.  It is nice to have a line that you can depend on.  It has taken us some time to make this accomplishment and I am quite pleased to say that so far it has paid off.

the broadcast tonight may prove interesting.  Hope everyone has the opportunity to visit.  if you go to on the bottom right hand side you will see a box that says “watch us live”  Click there and you will see our smiling faces at 7:00

Drop by and say hello some time we would all like to meet you.

I’m getting Paid Back

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

I have been teasing all of my friends on the East Coast about the lousy weather they are having and I was just laughing about the fact they are calling me now to find out if we are being washed away.  They say pay-back is tough.  It is.

Last night’s broadcast was terrific.  Ken Ard did a great job talking and playing the piano.  His discussion on teaching piano here in San Diego was very enlightening and I was very glad that he was here.  In particular were the live audience.  It is really nice to see them and to know they are having a great time.

Next week we are having Cindi Soriano and the group from Desi’s Music.  It should be very fun.  Cindi is going to have several of her students with her and it should be a great evening.

We attended the NAMM show last week and it was amazing.  NAMM is always a lot of fun.  you get to see all of the new product and chat with old friends while making new ones.  I decided while I was there to take two new lines and I will be telling you more about that shortly.  I am very excited about 2010.  It should be an incredible year.

Stop by and say hello sometime, we would love to meet you.

Tonight’s Show

Monday, January 11th, 2010

I am so excited to have Rosemary Bailey with us tonight.  She is going to be demonstrating and playing on the Roland RG-3, HPi6S and the Atelier.  Rosemary’s talent is incredible and her passion for the music and instrument shows in every performance.  Not only is she a great talent but also a very close friend.

Tonight is going to be another milestone for us because we are welcoming a live audience tonight.  Everyone who is in our area tonight and would like to see the show live may do so.  We request that you be here by 6:30 so we can seat you and fill you in on the way we work during the show.  The seating is free and the concert will be great.

This week is the week that many people in the musical instrument business look forward to all year.  The NAMM show is held in Anaheim, Ca.  this week.  We will have the opportunity to see most all of the manufacturers both foreign and domestic in every genre of the industry you can think of.

We will have many friends visiting this week that we havent seen since last year and I am excited about seeing them.

Tonight is our welcome to our friends from Japan with Roland and several other manufacturers and people that will visiting us for the first time.  We are glad that they are our partners in business and friends in life.  To our visitors we say “welcome” .

Its a couple of day before Christmas

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

I have taken a few days off but, I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate some of the kind words I have gotten from many of you regarding our store, the website and the Monday Broadcasts.  Monday night was so much fun.  We had a couple of people in the studio audience and Daniel Jackson did such a great job.

Mostly, I wanted to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas.  This is a very special time of the year for me.  First of all I believe in the real reason for Christmas.  I enjoy hearing stories from friends about how they spend their holiday.  I REALLY enjoy watching the kids at the mall stand in line to talk to Santa.  Its a time for family and friends to exchange kind words and gifts and perhaps a few minutes of quality time together.  I also happen to really DIG Christmas music.

I hope this year you are able to create special memories or perhaps just pick up the phone to wish an old friend a Merry Christmas.

Please drop by and say hello sometime I would love to meet all of you and lastly

AAUW and others

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

This past week has been lots of  fun.

Saturday we had the AAUW in the Performance Hall at PianoSD in Mission Valley in lovely San Diego.  Bette Miller and Anne Hoiberg did a terrific job as always playing and doing recitations about music.  Along with these two ladies we had the unique privilege of hearing Joan Sweet who is a harpist and did and incredible job.  This was our first time meeting and I was so impressed and inspired by her music.

Sunday we had several recitals which were just great.  I always enjoy hearing music from the students of the various teachers as they perform music they have practiced and prepared for.  It was a great weekend.

Monday was interesting.  After being completely prepared for the broadcast which is every Monday night at 7:00.  I was very excited to have Rosemary Bailey and her artistry .  We had semi-rehearsed and were ready and then came the COMPUTER GLITCH.  Now please understand that on our end we cant always see what exactly is happening and assumed that we were on.  Actually we were talking to ourselves.  It was a great introduction, and banter between the two of us and then we learned that we were not going out.  So, we went with the same thing over a second time, and then a third time.  Finally, I got our web designer Max Morgan on the phone and had to reboot and start over.

Needless to say, by this time we were both kinda wired from the confusion and knowing that we lost several viewers and things but, the show went off without a hitch (the 4th time) and it was a great evening.  I hope that you will join us on Monday nights at 7:00 by following this link.

Hey, I really would like to meet you sometime, so when you have a chance, stop by the showroom and say hello.

Thanks again

Next week we are going to have Rosemary Bailey.  I am sure most of you will recognize the name as an accomplished and well traveled musician.  She and I will be on at 7:00 Monday night.

WOW what a day

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

First let me say I am so happy with the comments that I have heard today about the blog. I hope people will continue to read because things change daily.

The concert scheduled for the 28th and 29th is coming together rather fast. My hat is off to all the people who have played such a great part. I will be ready to share with everyone who the special guests are for the concert by tomorrow. I can guarantee you will be very happy to hear who you will be meeting that night in addition to the fantastic music you will be hearing.

The artwork that is hung in the Performance Hall has been selling like crazy. We sold 5 pieces so far and everyone is enjoying the great artwork as well as the opportunity to help needy children in San Diego. It has also been fun to help the Childrens Initiative.

Rosemary was in today to meet a customer who purchased the Roland KR-115. She is such a pro when it comes to demonstration. She also shared with me some lesson ideas that she is putting together for a future release. It will be a state-of-the-art idea that will amaze you. I will keep you informed of the progress.

Lovleys Music is doing great business and is growing in thier new location and I am so happy to have them here.

Our Performance Hall is getting booked like crazy. We are getting close to being booked up through July. Amazing when you think that just a year ago we could not seem to get it booked at all.

I hope you enjoyed the picture of the Baldwin R-1 that I posted yesterday. I heard several comments today, “interesting” was my favorite. Its one of those words that could be taken several ways. I will leave that alone.

I wanted to direct you to a new website that I was at today. You should take a look at one of my favorite artists websites.

I hope you have a great day and that you can make someone smile today.
